It’s real! I held the OLPC laptop.

This morning we had a presentation by Ivan from the OLPC project (One Laptop Per Child) and he outlined the technology behind the famed “$100 laptop” that will be in the hands of millions of children worldwide in the near future.  It’s an amazing piece of technology and it looks and feels like a high quality component.  They’ve thought of everything….theft prevention….power generation….rubberized “spill-proof” keyboard….built-in wireless mesh network…and so much more cool innovative stuff.  I honestly hope that at some time in the future…all laptops will be similar to this…at least in terms of functionality and ruggedness.  Click below to see some pics of the OLPC laptop.  Click here to learn more about the OLPC project.
